* Martin Laird now on the list of solid, young, rising players. Ryder Cup discussion and majors discussion will ensue.
* Steve Marino remains at the top of the list of best players not to win. Even I thought Marino was going to close it out. 3-stroke lead with 4 to play. 3 holes later he was trailing by 2. Oops. This guy is a puddle on Sunday afternoons.
* Spencer Levin not ready to win, especially on a difficult track. Commish is outraged by my jinx email to him on Thursday.
* #17 at Bay Hill tricked up and laughable on Sunday with a rock-hard green and a tucked pin. Arnold, you should know better.
* There was a David Toms and Trevor Immelman sighting on the Sunday telecast. Good to see them both. Next sighting will be at the FedEx St. Jude Classic coverage.
* Sergio (aka The Bitch in these parts) secures a back door top 10. Commish calls this an "Allenby".
* Tiger apparently claiming he hit the ball well on Sunday - he shot 74 with 2 balls in the water coming in. Please stop.
* There are no favorites heading into Augusta in a mere 10 days. My pick again this year is Phil. His form really has no bearing any more on his performance at Augusta and he owns that place since the Hootie Make Over. KJ Choi has to be in consideration now too.
